- this is in contrast to the CL-215 or CL-415 Bombardier aircraft “water bombers” that scoop up water into the underbelly storage place while they are flying over the waterbody at a prescribed indicated airspeed IAS from the FRESH water surface like lakes NOT the ocean NEVER the salty OCEAN water because that leads to CORROSION and permanent damage to the aircraft not fixable no standard operating procedures for inspection or maintenance with ocean salty salt water scooping
